Best Antique Delaware license plates: The '40s base Delaware porcelain black tag is an American original, and arguably the only true antique license plate still on the road as a regular issue plate. A close second is the late '40s stainless on black, also still a valid issue license plate, and just as unique in its own way. Best of the "Not-so- Old Delaware license plates: They've got a cool lighthouse issue, sure. But we're so happy the old Delaware license plate fonts have returned. Side notes on post-War Delaware license plates: The anachronistic First State was the last state to issue porcelain license plates, yet was ahead of its time in 1970 with the first statewide silkscreened license plates. All pretty exciting stuff for a place that hasn't changed its old license plate design in four decades.

One question: Why does this most tag crazy of all US states, (where everyone knows how many low numbers are in his town, who owns 'em, and who paid how many thousand bucks for 'em), STILL issue just one license plate after all these years?
